"Our large group ate dinner at your restaurant last year on the last Saturday of February. We've been making this trip to Lutsen for 12 years and every year on our way back we've stopped at [a cafe] just up the road. [They] decided to close early last year. My sister-in-law suggested your restaurant was a nice place since she met a friend for coffee there a month or so before. Well, our dinner with you was soooo good the children "demanded" we come back to you this year. I am supposedly bending to their will by making this reservation. See you in 2 weeks"

"My wife and I had the pleasure of eating in your cafe on three successive days. The first day we had the herring dinner, the second day a beef pasty and the third day your baked omelets. I am not in the habit of writing to restaurants where we happen to eat but I must say that the food was outstanding. The herring and the way the vegetables were cooked would do justice to any gourmet. The pasty was as good or better than any I have had and the breakfast was very good although too much for us to finish. We happened to be in your cafe when the MS Bike Tram Tour was there and the waitresses were outstanding, not only in the way they took care of the riders but gave such good service to the "old duffers" in the corner booth."

"While on vacation last week, we discovered your restaurant and still haven't stopped talking about it. We stopped in two times, and relished every bite on both visits. We only wished that we lived closer so we could become regular customers! Thanks for the wonderful meals and great memories. We'll be back again next year!"

"I have to say eating at your place, I had some of the best food that I have had in a long, long while. Truly enjoyed everything. I was wondering if you sell your burnt sugar caramel sauce that you have on the bread pudding? I would be interested in buying some."

"Some friends recommended the Vanilla Bean for a good breakfast stop. We were not disappointed and came back two more times. Our first breakfast we decided to share the Traditional and the Scandinavian. I almost screamed when I tasted the homefries--they were just like my mom use to make--with leftover baked potatoes and onions! Real homefries! The bacon was nice and crunchy. The French-toast style bread pudding with sauce (Scandinavian) was too yummy to describe. We came back the next day and did the Traditional again--just had to have the homefries again. This time we tried the Swedish pancakes. They were outstanding. That night we returned for dinner. We started with a cup of their award-winning wild rice soup. You can stand your spoon up in it the cream is so thick! My husband tried the Swedish meatball dinner. You won't believe the gravy they serve--it is the most unique I have ever tasted. It is also delicious. I had the Walleye dinner. It was perfectly fried. Their slaw is fresh and tangy. I had to
try a side of their apple baked beans. They lived up to their description too. We couldn't leave without some bread pudding. It was huge serving and just the way bread pudding should be. I think we found our new favorite restaurant in MN!
